Zindagi mein, baaz auqaat, kayi aaise waqiyaat pesh aate hain jo insaan ko sochne par majboor kar dete hain ki aakhir zindagi ke asal maani kya hain, insaaniyat ke asal maani kya hain, aur konsi aaisi khoobiyan hain jo waqai insaan ko insaan banati hain. Aaise bhi kuch haadse pesh aate hain jo insaan ko, dar-haqeeqat, mu’ashre se jodte hain aur unke ek insaan hone ka imtehaan lete hain. Mere nazdeek, ‘ghareebi’ aaisi hi ek shai hai. Hum log apni apni zindagiyon mein itne masroof ho gaye hain ki jeena jaise bhool gaye hain, lamhon se lutfandoz hone ko faramosh kar baithe hain, aur apne mu’ashre mein hone wali hulchul par ghaur-o-fikr karne se anjaan hain. Art and Literature have played a pivotal role in the freedom struggle of India. The national movements used to resonate among people with such magnitude, that right from the plebeians to the highest factions of the society, everyone united against the tyrant British regime to forge an independent India. The vicissitudes among political leaders were in fact very prominent and inevitable. However, what kept In...

Women and the Indian Independence Movement.

"The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before." ~Albert Einstein The role and contribution of women in society has drastically changed over the span of time. From being house-makers to being sole breadwinners of the family, women have, time and time again, proven that they are capable of wonders. Women have, in totality, moulded the thinking of society. The 18th century, better known as, the 'Romantic Period', saw prolific writers penning their thoughts about romanticism and the unparalleled beauty of females. Senoras, ever since the beginning of mankind, have been staunch and fierce, yet the authors of the 18th century chose to portray the enticing and captivating side of them. In India, however, the situation was pretty grim and unpleasant. Horrendous traditions like the 'sati pratha' and the 'purdah' system were very prevalent. I...
